FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FROM THE SERENE PRINCIPALITY OF SERENDIP, OFFICE OF THE PARADOX

20 July 2001

The Office of The Paradox, on behalf of His Serene Highness, The Prince-Bishop, are pleased to announce a unilateral expansion of the Principality's foreign policy.  Further information is located at www.principalityofserendip.com/paradox.  Following on the long standing recognition of the member states of the United Nations, His Serene Highness has decreed that the Principality hereby recognizes all micro-nations with web sites that have been extant for at least 6 months from 20 July 2001.  It is hoped that this unilateral action of the SPoS will increase the dynamic exchange of information and diplomatic activity between all micro-nations and foster greater international understanding.  HSH stresses, however, that recognition of a state does NOT constitute diplomatic relations, nor does it imply an endorsement of the policies or actions of the states so recognized..

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FROM THE SERENE PRINCIPALITY OF SERENDIP, OFFICE OF THE PARADOX

29 August 2001

The Office of The Paradox, on behalf of His Serene Highness, The Prince-Bishop, announce that the Serene Principality of Serendip joins with Norway and various international human rights organizations in condeming the recent actions of the Australian government.  In contravention with established international law, the Australian government recently boarded and ordered a Norwegian vessel loaded with refugee's back into international waters, denying them a port and safe haven.  This action was taken after the the Australian Coast Guard apparently requested that the Norwegian vessel take the refugees off a dangerously overloaded Indonesian ferry.  "This act of callousness is out of keeping with the Australia's past policies and We urge the Government of Australia to reconsider their actions," His Serene Highness said.
