| The Serene Principality of Serendip is Theocratic Monarchy. The positions and powers of the Monarch, Head of State and Bishop of The Church are all held by the Prince-Bishop. The State Religion, headed by the Bishop who answers only to god, is The Orthodox Church of Serendip. |
| It is important to note that although the SPoS has an official State Religion, our citizens have been granted the right to follow their own individual faiths unhampered and unharrassed by The Government or Church. This right is absolute. |
| The Orthodox Church of Serendip is unique among the world's religions for its blending of traditional western religious icons, symbols and rituals with liberal, teachings devoid of magic and miracles and is based on the verifiable statements of the historical Jesus, and others. The OCS uses the Gospel of Jesus According to The Jesus Seminar, The Spiritual Teachings of Marcus Aurelius, The Art of Living by Epictetus and The Tao Te Ching as our primary texts. |
| The Prince Bishop is duly and legally ordained by The Universal Life Church, The Church of The Seven Planes and the Universal Church Triumphant of Apathetic Agnosticism. His ordinations are recognized internationally. The official religious title for the Bishop of the Orthodox Church of Serendip is "Bishop Metropolitain". |
